PROMISES MADE TO ISRAEL
When we read our bibles from cover to cover what becomes clear is that our faith has a deep and marvelous history. God has reached out to His people who have constantly turned their backs. Yet, through love, patience and through many ages God’s name stands faithful to promises made.
God so loved the world that it was destroyed in Genesis. He saved eight. Even greater still God so loved the world that He sent His Son to reach us. We are a rebellious people. However, this is where love shines most. God will never give up on His people. His ways are beyond our understanding.
God made promises to Israel that must be kept and fulfilled. For His name’s sake God can not and will not break a covenant promise made to the House of Israel.
Romans 10:1
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Twenty-five years after the death of the Saviour Paul the Apostle is praying for the nation of Israel.
The church is well established. The New Covenant has been ratified and exaggerated by the Holy Spirit.
Paul makes one point very clear. The church is distinct from ethnic Israel.
Twenty-five years later or two thousand years later we should follow Paul’s pattern and continue to pray for Israel salvation.
Scripture also makes it clear that there are outstanding promises that have not yet been fulfilled for Israel. The distinction remains.
The church is promised all Spiritual Blessing first granted in the Old Covenant. Those blessing now better sustained by the Holy Spirit.
Israel to was given the same promise. But to Israel was also given physical blessings of land and peace and a kingdom.
All of God’s promises will be fulfilled.
