John chapter 8 is shocking in its language. The battle is as simple as the darkness against the light. Jesus must speak truth at this moment of attack. The failed leadership is threatened by the now overwhelming popularity of Jesus, the Rabi from Nazareth. Many now believe in Him. This is a common phrase in John’s record of accounts. But there are too many that are fearful. There is an evident power struggle. Accusations are being made against Jesus. It’s brutally slanderous. Jesus speaks the light of truth in John chapter 8 as He reveals that He is the Great I AM. The concept of eternal life is shared. This is the Messiah. Full of power and grace.
