It is finished. John 19:30
The task given to the Son by the Father was complete.
Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished. John 19:28
And from there the world was forever changed. Salvation has come to the world. This is what was meant when God so loved the world that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
In John 19 we complete 3 more trial. The first 3 were Jewish trials – Annas, Ciaphas and the Sanhedrin. The final 3 were Pilate, Herod and back to Pilate. Here we see the worst of religion and politics. Jesus died for them just as He died for us. The cross is the Christian faith. There is power in the blood.
